This move comes as a response to US export restrictions on advanced AI chips, which have pushed ByteDance to seek domestic suppliers. The new AI model will be trained primarily with Huawei’s Ascend 910B chip, although ByteDance has faced challenges in obtaining a sufficient supply of these chips.
